It's astonishing to think about how much time we spend on activities that don't contribute to our goals or well being. I was once instructed to log everything I did in a day, from waking up until I went to bed. I discovered that my mobile phone, emails, Netflix, and chatting with family and friends dominated my day.

Schedule Tasks: Keeping on track can be challenging. I recently heard on an Erika Taught Me podcast that if something isn’t scheduled, it doesn’t get done. I've adopted this into my work routine. Cut Out Distractions: Minimise distractions by turning off notifications, maintaining a tidy workspace, and finding a quiet spot to work. Do whatever helps you focus better. For instance, a colleague of mine swears by listening to classical music.

Setting boundaries can be difficult, especially if you naturally like to help others. However, saying no is sometimes necessary to avoid taking on too much. Prioritise your tasks and communicate clearly when you can't take on more. You might be surprised by how understanding people can be.
This has always been a struggle for me. I was born to serve, and I truly excel in that role. So, when I need to say, "Hold up, wait a minute, stop," it doesn't feel natural at all. However, I've found that the thought of saying no is much worse than actually doing it for the first time.
One day, I was asked to do ten things and wanted to perform like an Olympic athlete. I prepared myself thoroughly, but when it was time to execute, I felt overwhelming anxiety. It was then that I realised I had taken on too much.
I had two choices: do ten things poorly or say no to at least five tasks. In those panic stricken moments, I gathered enough courage by talking to myself and said, "I'm sorry, but my priorities do not include your request. You'll need to find someone else." To my surprise, the response was, "OK, no problem. Thanks for letting me know."
All I can say is setting boundaries works.
